2000 Mecedes Benz S430
is it possible to change command language?

hi guys,i just bought my first Merc and am new to MBWorld forum car is a Japanese-import year 2000 S430 (i live in New Zealand) but as you would expect the command is all in Japanese language so very difficult almost impossible for me to understand how to work it i was wondering if there is any way that i could change it to English?! is there like a software/hardware i need to look for? any help would be appreciated...thanks so much guys

The post at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...-software.html may answer your question. The answer would seem to be no. You may need to replace the COMAND unit with a U.S. or European specification unit - but I have no idea what wiring modifications (if any) might be necessary.

i'm pretty sure that you're going to have to swap it out for a euro-spec COMAND as skylaw suggested.

try contacting benzmodz on this forum and he should have the equipments to do so.
