I have the same problem, but my pass seat is also not working. I checked fuses and they were good.

Could be the switch OR the DCM OR the window motor.. hard to tell off the bat. IF it doesn't work from either switch, then that rule that part out I guess.

So it must be either an issue with the DCM, or there is something physically wrong with the window motor. I don't think there is a separate fuse for each window I'll have to check when I get around to reloading my WIS DVD.
If you are planning on taking it in soon You may find out before I get the info on the fuse.

BTW..

What a nice SL.. Nice videos...
This is going to be my next car for sure....after I pay off my S.

It still could be a switch, but the control module is a more likely candidate. Aren't W220 electrics fun? The gremlins are chewing away right on schedule. Your next one could be a seat controller or mirror controller or (God forbid) the dreaded rear SAM.

Interesting point.. I guess I should expect to be replacing the DCM's for my 04 sometime in the future. It seems like they only last 5 or 6 years. is that a good estimate?
I'm actually pretty impressed considering all of the electronics that these cars have, 6 years is a good wear period...Not to many brands have that testimony..

I'm hoping that a lot of the electrical problems with early W220s were fixed later on. Certainly the 2004s and later seem to be more reliable. I went through all of the problems with my 2001 S55 (controllers, accelerator pedal module, SAM and more) but my 2006 has been totally solid. Time will tell if it's age or early design problems.

Well so far I've been very happy. I did get a new acelerator pedal, but it was the result f a complaint that I had not a real failure.. My SA suggested swapping it and I did and it fixed what I was complaining about. Otherwise, I've been pretty okay.

Does your 06 have TPMS? That is one quirky system. I've found that replacing all of the sensors with A/M Beru sensors I got from Tire Rack made it function almost flawlessly. I had a lot of sensor related issues before that.

My TPMS has worked great so far. It's amazing to see a pound or two higher pressure on the sunny side of the car, or changes with hard cornering. I leave that display on the cluster a lot.

Thanks for the TPMS tip on Beru, MY. I have OE in my '05 and it's pretty good - I also see the difference reported by whoover because of sun, at least when the tires are cold. I also note that when starting at the recommended inflation of 29 front and 32 rear, and the tires warmed up , all the pressures balance out at 33 - and they tend to stay balanced (though at higher pressures) at prolonged highway speeds.

No problems with my OE sensors so far.

Replacement

Is this a repair that could be done on my own or one better left to the dealer. A service advisor I spoke to suspects it is the motor. Anyone ever do this before???

The controller would affect more functions, so it very well could be the regulator motor. I changed one years ago in my W126, and it wasn't too bad, but I have no idea what's involved in a 220. I wouldn't try it without the CD unless someone here could post details. And I wouldn't buy any expensive parts until I had everything exposed and could verify the motor is getting power but not actuating.

Window WORKS AGAIN

Well for no reason that I can figure out, yesterday a friend of mine walked up to the passenger side of my car, I pressed the down button on the passenger window and it went down, hasn't gone down in months, went up down up down and up and down again today. Go FIGURE!!!!!

If I take it to the dealer I suspect I will get the dreaded

"CANNOT DUPLICATE CUSTOMER COMPLAINT" on my service ticket....

What do you think of the sudden working of the window again.

I was surpised about it going down, but even more surprised about it going up.....

weird issue with pass window!

Hi guys,

The passenger window on my w220 works perfectly fine if I operate it from the driver's side. But doesn't work if I try to operate it from the little window switch on the passenger's side. Also the lights on this little switch are OFF all the times. I tried to replace it with another switch: same problem.
Everything else works perfectly fine: mirrors, seat's position control, position's memory, on both sides.

Can it be the de DCM of the passenger side? Even if everything else works?

Thanks in advance for your answers
