I recently ran into a website that actually activates those timeport/startac analogic phones. The only thing is that the service they have is prepaid but the minutes you get are very similar to the ones you get with a contract. The network used by this company seems to be the same as verizon wireless.

don't these types of things take a while to have call be completed? I would imagine this process is very quirky and 'chunky' when dialing or receiving a call. Please advise.
