Is your car not doing well now?

Sorry

Sorry I should have explained, that is not my DYNO from RENNTECH that is what they sent me when I inquired about their software upgrade. My best #'s were in 450's to 480's....

Last two were in the 450's.

OK, I understand more now. Even at 480 RWHP, that only puts it at 600 FWHP. That's a little short.

You're going to have to take a trip and come up here, maybe even for a couple of days and let them fix it. I know it's a pain in the ***, but you already spent the money. Let them fix it. If it's something wrong with the programming, I'm sure it will be fixed at no further cost to you. If it's something else, well, that's another story.

Email me when you're coming. We can have lunch.

Local Shop

There is a local shop here in Tallahassee that works on IMPORTS and supposedly has the same diagnostic equipment the Mercedes Dealers have. I am going there on Tuesday and have them check the car for "CODES" to see if something is wrong. BOB BRADY, mentioned "SENSORS" but would not explain after that. If anyone knows anything else I should have them check please chime in.

Any chance you ran your Dyno tests on a Mustang or other type of Dyno? The reason I ask is because there is typically about that percentage difference between those two types of dynos. If yours was run on a Mustang and you re-ran it on a Dynojet, you would get the higher numbers.

Nope, they were both Dynojet.

Take the car down to RENNtech

RENNtech has continually asked that you bring the car down so they can assist you. But you have not done so.

It seems that you really do not want the car fixed if there is something wrong.

Drive train loss is 20%

Rear wheel power should be about 500 + or - 3%.

Not all cars produce the exact same results, but usually with in 3%

I Have

I HAVE CONTINOUSLY ASKED YOU TO BE SPECIFIC as to what to have the TECHS look for and YOU IGNORE THAT, long drive to just be told AGAIN that something is wrong with the car.

First time I was told about 20% Hartmutt emailed me months again stating 18% and never heard of the plus or minus 3%, let me check your website and see if I just didn't see that part.

I did tell you

All 4 pressure sensors,
Intake temperature
Any codes for ECU, ESP or TCU
A lap top needs to be hooked up to the car and it should be put on dyno or driven under load to see what everything reads.

This is best done down at our shop.

That way there are no questions.

Enough said

Has Anyone

Has anyone see this disclaimer on the RENNTECH website about the ECU and TCU upgrade?

"Drive train loss is 20%

Rear wheel power should be about 500 + or - 3%."

All I see are stated numbers for horsepower and torque and neither have a plus or minus next to them.

I must be looking in the wrong section.

I guess you've never done a car before. Anyone that knows anything about HP and tuning, you know that there is drivetrain loss, because your engine does not drive the wheels directly. There's a trannsmission and other moving parts that eat up FWHP. Most tuners advertise the Flywheel HP because that's what their tune makes the engine produce. They are also the better numbers for advertising because they are larger. If you were expecting 620 at the wheels, you should have asked more questions before having it done. An informed consumer makes for a happy consumer.

Oh, and BTW, you can probably get another tuner to get you 620 at the wheels, but I don't think your engine will last long at all!!!

RENNtech safely tunes our cars.

This is just my observation, but It almost looks like you really enjoy *****ing about Renntech more than you want your car fixed. I feel bad for you.

Never

Never expected to get 620 at the wheels, I am familiar with drivetrain loss, you may want to look back at post 34 of this thread by me.

As I said earlier without knowing what to test for and driving 300+ miles to Miami to be told something is wrong and drive another 300+ miles back is not a big accomplishment to me.

BigBOOB just gave me some specifics a couple of days ago.

No need to feel sorry for me!

RENNTECH should probably change their brochures to state "UP TO" and not be specific with numbers they fall consistently short on.
