Chances are your car is not "prewired" for phone. First, the dealer will get about $1,500 for putting in some electronics, voice control and a base plate in your center console. Then you will have to pay another $400 or so for a Bluetooth puck. Information about the kind of pucks and what phones they're compatible with can be found at:

http://www.wireless4mb.com/

The other alternative is a third-party system, but they don't integrate as well with COMAND and the cluster display. The MB system works really well, but it's not cheap.

I recently bought a S430 that did come prewired for the phone. I knew this because the old cellphone base was in the console. I bought the bluetooth adapter for $400. I love the bluetooth and it's worth every dime!!

Just do a search for "Bluetooth" and get ready to do a lot of reading. There is really a lot of information on it in other forums some with links to how too's on youtube. I found it very informative and it helped me understand what is required to put one in. I was able to check my S430 to see exactly what is installed and what I need to install. Not everything you read will be for your S class but it's a good education. Good luck.

1. check your car, does it already have the old startac phone under armrest console?
2. if so, then you will need Universal PSE part# Q6820971, if you have old startac PSE and it is not blue label.(blue label would be indicated by a blue marker line thru label on part or a blue sticky dot, if it is a blue label then the PSE has been modified to work with bluetooth, if not you must get new PSE stated above)
3. you will need universal cradle eliminator cable to avoid searching for v60s cradle. that part number is #Q682 0976.
4. finally you will need the v60 bluetooth adapter part#B67875856
a.universal PSE $142.56 total cost w/shipping
b. cradle eliminator cable $85.00 total cost w/shipping
c.v60 bluetooth adapter (puck) $400 b4 shipping, but check ebay for cheaper price I got one for $189.50 cost w/shipping Keenan Mercedes has it for $245.00
the installation instructions are found on Paul H. Dick’s site, Phone Bulletins) right here on "sticky:w220 owners start here by Skylaw" scroll down to "how to on bluetooth" pictures and parts are all there. if you have a problem just drop line. it's easier than it looks
(use genuine mercedesparts.com for cheaper prices not mercedebenz genuineparts website they charge much more for same parts about $68.00 more for PSE) Total cost= $427.06 Your auto is 2006 so if you have PSE it is already bluetooth compatible and your bluetooth puck will be different model.

Prastis, your car uses an entirely different phone setup from the one described by la22bay. His description is accurate for '00-'03 models, but not for '04 or for '05-'06. DO NOT order those parts. Your car needs an MHI controller, an MHI contact plate, and an entirely different puck. See the first seven entries in the thread at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...ades-plug.html

Unfortunately I cannot give you the part numbers. The folks who have ordered MHI phone systems have not been very good about feedback on the part numbers. However, the first post in the thread offers some contact information where you can find both the numbers and the parts - and once you do, we'd really like to have those numbers.
