2003 S500
Please help - hopefully an easy question

I'm supposed to buy a 2003 S500 in 2 hours (my first Mercedes Benz), but the VIN has returned S430 in 2 different search sites I've used, carfax and a vin number search for MB's. Do they all show up as S430's and then the various options are just added on? Any specific ways I can tell it's the 5 liter motor? Any help is appreciated.

I'm not the subject matter expert on this .. but that's enough to make me run. Have you looked under the hood? It should NOT show up as an S430 if it's a 500 ..

I have verified that it definitely should show up as an s500 - called the local MB dealer as well as another guy I know in the car business. The vin number should be ....NG75J for an S500, and it is ....NG70J. I guess somebody put a new badge on it. That sucks. I though I was getting a really good deal - so much for that.
