Its called Car Glow.. Its on Ave T. and McDonald Ave.. Apparently they charge $45 for a hand wash but they are EXTREMELY meticulous.. They get inside your interior and clean everything, wipe down the crevices around the vents and such with mini brushes.. My friend who is a detailer himself raves about them especially their full detail job.. They have a 2 week wait period for appointments just for a hand wash.. Go figure.. I have to wait 2 weeks to wash my car.. LoL But ill be heading over there as soon as I have some free time to check it out..

Last winter we were in Ohio and the ML was dirty as heck. It was nice and sunny out so we went to a drive through car wash at a gas station and had it washed. Came out with a surface scratch along the front passenger door. Luckily it buffed out when we got home but after that experience...never again.

I take mine through whatever when it's dirty...machines, hand washes, a nice rain storm. Not too in love with the vehicle. I will however put a nice detail job on it the day before it gets traded in.

S430 Sold :(
I go thru a carwash with the brushes, but I am not infatuated with my car I really dont see the HUGE deal of going touchless vs brushes I guess everbody has personal preferences....I am the ON THE GO type of guy so to get a handwash I just dont have the time, but I do get the car detailed at my office ever couple of months. They take about 5 hours and do great work about $100 not too bad.

Same here. Send my car through (machine) car wash every other week. It's one of the newer & more advanced wash machine, where it pull the car along the rail (w/ car in neutral), at which different steps (clean, wash, hot wax) are applied. It even clean the tires & polish rims, and apply tire polish, all automatically by machine. Last stage of air-dry is pretty good, as I hardly see any water left .... . Anyone in SoCal can try it out, at corner of Sepulveda and El Segundo (city of El Segundo, near where I work).

For $10 and 5 minutes, can't beat that. An hour or so waiting at hand-wash places or couple hours of hand wash at home is not worth it. It's just a car.

If I had one of those collectable or exotic car, I would hand wash it. All else, machine wash should be just fine

80% of the time I go through a touchless car wash. If it gets dirty enough, I'll wash it myself at the car wash with the spray and foaming brush device supplied at the car wash. Immediately afterwards, I dry it with a towel to get rid of spotting problems. Very rarely do I wash it at home because our water is so hard it leaves spots. The touchless car washing is why I think my car has so few swirls marks on it. The paint still looks showroom new. The only thing I have to worry about is not running up on the metal tracks that guide you through the wash area. These can ruin wheels and make your day a sickening one.

Those of you that go thru the machine wash I can understand the reason behind it.. I have a 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid that I run thru the car wash so I can get done chop chop.. The S600 however is my baby and me being the car aficionado that I am I refuse to risk the car getting scratched or damaged in any way by the machines..

i prefer to wash myself. its a hell of alot cheaper, and you dont' have to worry about some machine or shady car wash guy scratching or denting anything. But if I'm really lazy or strapped for time Id take it to a hand wash.

While I tend to agree with you on that.. The fact that it is 23 degrees here deters me from sticking my hand in sub-freezing water and getting frost bite all in the name of washing my own car and saving a couple of bucks..

I don't see how they can make any money spending 5 hours on a detail for $100. I have my own mobile detailing business and a Mercedes requiring paint correction (especially with CeramiClear) is going to run a minimum of $200-225.

Wow, $100 is a great price. Is that in and out? I'm going to be trying a new guy next week, sounds like it'll be about $125 just for the exterior, and about $50 more for a quick interior detail.
