Auto volume control 2004 S class

I did a search on two forums and didn't come up with anything conclusive regarding speed sensitive automatic volume control. I'd like to be able to disable the function. I looked in the manual and it makes no reference to controlling this feature. Is this possible to change this in the Star Diag. or how about the service menu codes that some times show up in these threads?

Is everyone just living with this auto volume control? I find it gets too low when stopped.

No mine is off or was off cause my baby is gone now. A good high end car stereo joint will be able to do it for you, just call around t'll you find someone who has done some S-Class installs and they will know. You might try a Al & Eds Autosound near you.

I'm not in CA, but thanks.....

I did read that you can put a resistor on the mic wire and cut the mic in the car. seems a bit extreme and I don't know if that would work anyway.

You can command the mic shut off via car computer, nothing that harsh is needed.

In the pre 02 models you had the option directly on your comand unit to disable and chsnge that volume setting however way you please. I think from 04 DVD based comand, that feature was removed.
