Question Adapter/Harness for bixenon headlight-part number?

Does anyone have or know how to look up a part number for the adapter on the
autolevel feature for the bixenon headlight?

I already traced the wires for the autolevel from the bixenon headlight and they match up with the old xenon headlights.
I'll post the pictures up when it's done.

S500 man posted the adapter for the bixenon high beams.

This harness is from autowerks.

Hopefully someone will know the part number, I want a clean plug-in. I don't want to start using terminals.

No, dont know the autoworks harness. I have re-invented the wheel on my own.
Btw, you'll require the schematics too, in order to succeed.

Cheers, Frank

Thanks Frank.

Regarding schematics, is it something I have to pay for?

I pulled the wires off the bixenon headlights and the coloring matches with the old xenon headlight.

Are there any other secrets to this or they will match up fine?

I'll try to upload some pictures tonight.
If I get this to work, I promised everyone here a full DIY

The autolevel is easy. Its just 1:1 connection.

Cheers Frank

I think I jumped ahead and quote you too early.

Thanks Frank.
That's great to hear about the 1:1 connection.

I'm excited to get this working.

One last thing regarding the highbeam. It's just one grounding wire to the brown one right?
There are some mixed messages regarding the 1st and 3rd wire that need grounding.

the ground is easy just get a ground wire...ground it in the engine bay, and plug it in the hole nearest to the grill..........in that little mb adapter.

S500 Man, so for the Right(passenger) headlight, it's the brown one.
You can see that little plug beneath the headlight.

On the left (driver) headlight, it'll still be the brown wire-for everyone else to see.

Check back for the DIY since you didn't get the autolevel to work

Ok I'm a bit confused. I was thinking to update my 2000 lights to an OEM set of Bi-xenon projector updated headlights. I was under the impression that all I need is some kind of harness that will allow for an easy install? Is that correct or am I completely mistaken. If someone can school me on how I'd have to go about making the conversion I'd appreciate it.

AUTOLEVEL UPDATE with new pictures!!!!!!!!

Sorry to those who pm me and I never answered back. I've been away from mbworld for awhile. Here's an update and mcssci had an excellent write up also while I'll provide the pictures

In conjunction with mcssci:
https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w220/242394-diy-bixenon-upgrade.html

4. Assemble your wires into your 4-pin auto level plugs:
Insert the female ends of the A000 540 38 05 wires into the back of the new (4-pin) A000 153 08 42 plugs until they click into place.
Cut off the male ends.
The new plugs are labelled 1-4 next to each wire.
Cut the wires to the old plug and splice them to the new wires, matching blue to 4, black to 3, red to 2, and green to 1.

2 high beam plugs (5-pin) A220 545 46 28 (left)
2 auto level plugs (4-pin) A000 153 08 42 (right)

cables for autolevel and ground. Quantity should be 10.

autolevel plug from car

color properly aligned

first spade plugged in. this is if you don't want to use the splice-in connectors.

plugged in to headlight

grounding for highbeam (notice they're both on the left for L and R headlight)

Hi

I am driving S 430 , 2001 and 2 days ago I asked the dealer to estimate the price for the Bi-Xenon . He told since my Original Headlights are Halogen is a lot of work to put in it and this is going to cost me $ 5000 .

Any suggestions ?

they pre-wire for halogen and xenon, just make sure u tell them what u want - everything is plug-n-play (unscrew, screw, plug-n-play)

Adapter Harness Found 00-02 W220

Anyone out there searching for the elusive adapter that I myself began to doubt its existence...Eureka! http://web13.server001.publicompserv...n-Harness.html

I verified via email with a company rep that this is indeed what is needed to avoid any splicing, complete plug in play for xenon to Bi xenon.

I got them to work!!

After hours of searching this thread gave the exact directions how to upgrade your crappy 00-02 xenon to the 03+ bixenon

If I had to do it again I would probably just make my own connectors for the ground and auto level with some high quality female crimp connectors to shove into the pins on the headlights. All those wires and harnesses cost $80 shipped!

The new headlights are crazy bright compared to the old ones. I plan on selling all the old xenon parts to help pay for the new ones. I got the new ones off a wrecked car for about $300 shipped for everything which is crazy cheap. Which is a good thing because I'm a broke student.

Guys

Thanks for the efforts and sharing.

I have a 1999 S500 with Xenon but want to convert it back to normal headlights.

The old light inside wires are completely toast combined with the broken plastic clips which were suppose to hold the light.

There are only two plugs, one the main like with all and another 4-pin plug which I assume is for the self leveling system.

Can you advise on how the wiring needs to be changed; e.g. is it the same like putting in the ground wire for the leveling or is it more complex?

Appreciate your help.

Old light

standard plug old light

4-pin plug self leveling

new none xenon headlight

one plug only to connect all
