kind of new to the boards i asked questions before but i haven't been here in a long time...............................anyway the other day my check engine light came on i hooked my scanner up and the codes i dont remember but it said my fuel was to rich and or lean. today i pulled off of my parking pad low and behold my car started hessitating then it took off...but i noticed it didn't have the power it once had. do you guys have any ideas? i'm thinking its time for a tune-up i'm approaching 120,000 miles.

There is no such thing as a "Tune UP" on many cars these days.. but you could have a bad accelerator pedal module, or in the case of the light your MAP sensor could be bad. You can't rely 100% on codes unless you do some troubleshooting. Many times there might be something going on that will throw a code for something else. Especially codes related to fuel since the fuel/air mixture is controlled by so many other elements. Could be something as simple as a bad fuel filter.Originally Posted by f2daizm

Either way my advise would be to take it in, pay the $98.00 and get a true opinion on what the porblem is and take it from there.
When ever you post a "what do you guys think it is" question on a forum you will get a million different answers including mine...

It is probably your MAF sensor. A couple articles might help...
