your S600 wheels
Mercmaniac, I'm glad everything worked out well for you.
I noticed the stock wheels you had on your 2001 S600. How did you like them? I am considering an 18" set of those or AMG 5 Stars. I like the look of those S600 wheels. My S500 is silver.

Crankin...
You're in luck. The 2003 S600 has the same wheels now in 18". My 2001 has 17" and they handle extremely well. The new 18" same design should be awesome.
Ask for some pull-offs from your dealer....you'll get a good deal.
Let me know how it works out.

Oh...
I love the look...they are high polished special lightweight honeycombed combo-metal compound. Only negative (doesn't bother me) is that if you scrape them they can't be repaired since they are such an exotic metal compound. They weigh 1/3 the weight of the AMG wheels!!!!!.....they did these wheels since the V12 engine has 400 pounds extra weight over 55 AMG V8......so, should be fantastic addition to your 500!

Difficult wheels to find
Mercmaniac, I am having little luck locating any 2003 S600 wheels from MB dealers. If you have any contacts, please let me know. I really like those wheels and think they will look great. Thanks

Mercedes C200K Coupe
LOL, So... I guess you fall in love with Mercedes again? even worse than before? heh... I know how that feels. I once was with dad in his S 320. a car rammed us in the rear. we didn't feel too much. we thought it was a small accident. but when we got out of the car we found out that the car from the back is a wreck to the rear wheels!!

S600 wheels hard to clean?
Mercmaniac, are those wheels hard to clean, or do they lose their finish easily? I am getting ready to spring for a set, I think.
Thanks
Thanks

S600 wheels
Mercmaniac, did you get your wheels chromed, or did they come somewhat chromelike?
My 2003 wheels are on the way, and the MB guy says they are bright, but you can't see your reflection like chrome.
I wonder if the 2003 wheels are not as highly polished as the earlier 17" design. I hope not!
Thanks

Wheels are the same for 2003. They are not chromed....they are high polished but still "brushed"....so they gleam but don't reflect like chrome. You'll love them. Hey, you can order the stock 600 wheels now "staggered"...same sizes as the sport version AMG wheels.

Looks great, Merc!
My wheels are in transit-too late for staggered, but thats ok.
Can't wait to get them on. Are they clearcoated or difficult to maintain?
Thanks

New taillights
Scrub, have you put the new taillights on your car? Will you be doing the 03 headlights?
Thanks
