My S600 vs LX470 in wreck!
Friday night out on a date driving down Peachtree St. in Atlanta. Going thru green at intersection....LX470 in opposite direction pulls directly in front of me to take a left. I'm doing 45, turn hard to right, ESP starts flashing and ABC was amazing since I was able to avoid full frontal collision....still clipped my entire drivers side on their driver side front bumper. Their bumper and entire front grill comes off and they keep on going (hit and run). I'm able to pull car over to side of road. Need new front bumper, new driver side light housing, front and rear quarter panels, new rear bumper, two new doors, and one new wheel. Still I was able to drive car home and auto door close, windows, everything on both doors still work...only malfunction message is to check drivers side front fog lamp. Damn thing isn't even out of align.
No injury at all to my girlfriend or me.
First wreck in a Mercedes....this car, 2001 S600, is a tank!!
One note...the air bag system was incredible. If it was the cheap kind of system it would have deployed and I would have lost control of car and crashed into Piedmont Hospital entrance! Instead sensors read that high impact off angle glance (not people threatening g-force, car was absorbing) was taking place and I was still travelling at high rate of speed. What the Germans put into these cars that isn't spelled out in detail in the manuals or brochures is why they're worth the money.
People behind me got tag # of LX 470. Police got them two hours later, couple of supposedly well known rappers high on drugs and alcohol, and then asked me if I wanted to press additional charges in addtion to their own.....hell yeah!!!
Went home and "made it" with my girlfriend.....
Oh well....off to the shop we go!!!

Sorry to hear this. What is the penalty for a hit and run? pretty severe i am guessing. But you car looks pretty good considering the size of the LX.

Tezta.....Since the car was so nimble I was actually able to do some wild turning and keep control and not have a head on. I guess there's no structural damage....taking it in to body shop today, so we'll see.
I don't know what the sentencing is for a hit and run. Probably no jail time if they plead guilty....but I'm sure they will lose their drivers license.

Yous can be sure that when you go to sell the car they will ask if there is any body reapir work. P.S. - I understand that the dealers have the means to measure paint thickness to dtermine repairsd even if they are not visible!!!

Dude glad your doin alright, i second the opinion of somebody earlier in this post, give us the names of the rappers!
As for the s class it is an absolute tank my pops got rammed by a truck in one, walked away without a scratch, cant say the same for the car which was 'totalled' pops got an LS 430 as he needed a change, hey ill post some pics of it if anyones interested
