Where to get AMG replacement front bumper for my 04?

So I noticed on my S55 the other day the front bumper had a crack in it near the bottom. Then after looking at it more clearly it was actually cracked and then fixed and bondo'ed and painted and seems like the weather changes made it crack again. Yes I bought this S55 used but clearly showed nothing on the carfax and didnt look like it was damaged either.

So instead of having a bodyshop try to fix the crack like before it might be easier to just buy a new one and paint it since it wont crack again. Wheres a reasonable place to get the bumper cover, I find alot of sites but they all seem to be like 00-02 replacements which wont fit this year.

Thanks

Bumper relair/replacement is not "Really" considered body damage and rarely comes as a result of an accident. This is why it will not show up on CarFax most of the time. Infact, when a car is checked for paintwork, the bumpers get a pass unless there is a big obvious dent or mark. otherwise paintwork on a bumper is okay at trade.

To our actual question, I have found it easier to get a new bumper cover from the dealer. they are around 1200.00 unpainted. At least that way you know it will fit your car. There are not that any people parting with AMG bumpers and not may sold so they are hard to come by on the secondary market.

Damn 1200 for a cover, then paint. I was going to do this out of pocket as not to file a claim. Might take it to a body shop and see if they can repair this one correctly or will they recommend a full cover replacement as I wanted to do initially.

Normally it's better in the Long run to just replace it.NOt everybody can do fibreglass especially stress cracks. file a claim and just pay the deductable..

1200 is a decent price opposed to a few hundred for (who knows maybe 400+) for fiberglass work and prep on the bumper, plus paint, plus it will always be weaker where it was fixed,

if you have rough weather in your area for different seasons maybe buy a new replacement, and throw the old one on for winter months
