w220 help

I was away for 4 weeks, when I returned, It didnt start and I assumed I needed to charge the battery. I did, but the 2002 s55 amg (45k mi) will not even crank. Battery checked as good, yet I still swapped batteries with my working E class (similar battery CCA). I can not get it to even crank with either battery. ALL accessories work fine as far as I can tell.

The car was PERFECT when I parked, with only minor issue history since purchase.

I went to the starter relay, removed the cover and manually closed the relay - the engine cranked freely, but of course something is NOT supplying the right information to start the car. I did leave the key on in the ignition for a few hours - nothing there.

Also, the Fuel Pump relay is under the seat. how do you get it out, the plastic around it restricts its removal. Does that entire fuse box move in some way to allow fuse access?

This has to be simple, but I dont see it. help...........

Hmm. You might check the crank position sensor.

W220 CPS

There is this page that tells how to test for W164. I'm not sure if it's the same for W220.

Are you getting a check engine light or anything? Some threads I've seen for diff models say that CPS does not throw an error.

Thanks for the input.

Does anyone know that the CPS can stop the car from cranking in total?
