is there BTUM & cradle for W220 too?
I know that for earlier BMW cars, the solution to have Bluetooth working is to have a Bluetooth Module (BTUM) connecting to the cradle for the Motorola V60 and proper software initialization... just wondering if a 2005 S500 can have something similar, and anything the dealer has to do to have it working? What can we do ourselves without having the dealer do anything?
please let me know, and if it's simple plug and play, anyone have the steps and procedures to have this done?
thanks guys!!

Welcome to the forum. The search tool is your friend.
See http://www.wireless4mb.com/ (start with the connectivity options tab) and http://www.wireless4mb.com/MB.pdf.
Instructions for inserting the puck or cradle, and pairing the puck with a phone are supplied with them and are downloadable on the AWS site.
The '05 S500 uses an MHI phone system and can use several cradles for plug-in phones, or it can use a pure Bluetooth puck for a variety of BT phones. There is no V60 option for an MHI system, but there are other plug-in phones. The V60S phone and cradle or cradle/puck option is for MY '04 and earlier.
The amount of work to be done depends on whether your car already had a phone system, or whether it is simply prewired. So does the question of whether the dealer has to do any programming (version coding). The string at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...bluetooth.html has more information; posts (permalinks) 1, 5, 6, and 9 apply to your car. The phone bulletins referenced in the posts have information on how to install the phone system (and give you enough information to tell if you have a handsfree system, or merely prewiring).
