ok i searched but I could not find a def answer, Iam thinking about upgradeing to the newer amg bumper and I am told that I must get the hood as well is there anything else I will need? or can I find or do they make a bumper that will fit the older models but will look like the amg bumper?

i have a friend of mine who has an LRS- F1 front bumper from extreme dimensions for sale. Its for the 2000-2002 w220 chasis. Its made of duraflex material not cheap fiberglass and it has excellent OEM fit. Its the same design as the Lorinser F1 front bumper i have which looks nice.

I was looking at this same bumper, so there is no need for me to repost. Anyway what is Duraflex ( its says Duraflex fiberglass)?? Is that the cheap fiberglass the cracks and shows stress marks?

the duraflex is better more resistance to cracks and stress marks.

no its not that cheap fiberglass material.


Duraflex is mixture of polyurethane and other strong plastics like fiberflex that make it very strong. More then 10 times stronger then fiberglass.


It doesnt have spider cracks like cheap fiberglass....and it doesnt crack period.


There are numerous videos of the duraflex material on youtube and the internet showing people jumping on it and trying to break the bumper with sledge hammers..and its virtually impossible.


It has the mesh already preinstalled- and the bumper is painted with a special black prime already so it just needs to be installed and painted.

The Bumper is Brand new...my friend sold his s430 for a s600 sport so he has no use for the front bumper anymore and will get rid of for $500. it cost $750 with shipping.

HERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT WEBSITES WHERE THE BUMPERS ARE $594 PLUS $195 SHIPPING.

IF THE COMPANY isnt LRS OR IF ITS OFF EBAY ITS DEF A POOR CHEAP QUALITY ONE that made of fiberglass and will need alot of work and prep time.

You cant add the new 03 amg bumper because the facelift also raised the hood.

You woulld need a new hood too.

Thats a good question I would contact extreme dimensions to make sure the pic posted is what you really get. I have an full (aftermarket) AMG body kit that is for the 00-02 if your interested front bumper rear bumper and side skirts its fiberglass but is real strong it some other type ??? dont know the name. I can bend it and doesn't crack. I was going to put in on my car but decided not too. Make me an offer if you are interested Thanks.

thanks I will keep that in mind but I have a line up right now, to buy a 03 rear amg bumper and sides that are real, so I am looking to do the 03 up amg front. If it falls through Ill let you know, thanks

Nah its been posted b4 03 Facelift and cannot be done without modding the car etc.

But then again I read the description and it says it can be done without modding, so f- it.

i am lso looking for a body kit for my 2000 s500, so would u say duraflex is the same quality and lasting of an oem bumper??

I just got off the phone with Extreme Dimensions, the company that makes that duraflex AMG bumper. They have 2 different part numbers for the 00-02 and the 03-05 W220. So make sure you order the correct one, and the 00-02 is a direct fit without having to purchase a grill or hood. The only thing is it comes with no mounting tabs (which is not really an issue if you have a good body guy). The direct number is (714) 278-8000 ex17 ask for Thomas. My only concern is no one can give me a quote on paint and prep until they see it in person.......

O yeah that website is cheaper its about $40 more if you order direct.

yes, just make sure u get the right part #, there are 2 different numbers for different years. One will keep from having to buy a hood and a grill its cut lower to fit.
