Just as a reminder, if u have a car be delivered now and u wait till Jan 1, 2003 u will save the luxury tax of 3% over $40,000. On a $100,000 car that amounts to $1,800. The luxury tax has been fased out .

If you want to take delivery this year still, the dealer is likely to eat the Luxury Tax. My S500 4MATIC is finally ready for me to pick up. I mentioned that since I had waited over 7 months for it, I was prepared to wait another few weeks to accept delivery and save the tax. It took them about 3 seconds flat to agree to pay the tax themselves. Of course, with a fully loaded S500 at list price, they have plenty of margin to play with. The real issue is the dealer really wants to book the revenue and unit sale this quarter!
