2002 S500
Yes, another leaky strut question.

Hello members, first time user here.

I have a 2002 s500, 70k on it and have owned it since it had 10k miles on it. Took the car to the dealer as it has been driving about 1.5 inched lower on the pasenger rear. Car was diagnosed with a leaky upper strut seal. I clearly heard the hissing. Have been driving like that for over two years. Came home and sealed the hair line leak with some two part appoxy. (no more hissing sound). Further more I replaced the original rims and tires with The OEM AMG staggered set 8.5 and 9.5 rears. Question? Even though I think I fixed the leak as i do not hear any hissing, did I add to the problem? The passenger rear is still at least an ich lower then the other side. If I go over a good size bump I hear the rear tire rub against the wheel well. Will the car level itself out if the leak is fixed. For the record, I am no expet. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

It is my understanding that the rear struts are replacement only, no repair kit available.

It sounds like the rear strut is no longer capable of isolating bumps/dips, etc. This is a sure sign that the rear strut has/is failed.

Sorry to be the bearer of lousy news.
