it seems when ever I turn on my a/c my car starts to slightly vibrate. I've driven other cars and even if the a/c is at its max there is no vibration. Should I be concerned or is this normal?
whoover, as usuall thanks for the quick response! If it is the engine mounts do they get replaced? Or do they get loose and get tightened? I know I probably sound dumb but...... And what should I expect to pay for any repairs?

Thanks for your help!
If it's the mounts, they have to be replaced. The mechanic can tell because they collapse (there's a simple measurement they make). The cost depends on whether all mounts need replacing. Often, the transmission mounts need replacing at the same time. It's usually not a gigantic bill, but nothing is cheap on a Mercedes. I would say hundreds, not thousands.
But it could also be a bad idler or even A/C compressor, although my bet would be on mounts. If it were bad moving parts, you'd probably hear noise when the A/C engages. In my experience, rough idle type problems are usually collapsed hydraulic mounts on these cars. But only a reputable mechanic can say for sure.
