Looking for Pics/Opinions of Smoked Tail Lights....

I'm not too big on any rear light mods I've seen on S-Classes, but I'm trying to figure out if any form of blacking out would look good on the 00-02 style rear lights. I was thinking the most obvious choice of blacking out all the red parts and leaving the white alone, then of course I was thinking of blacking out the white and leaving the red alone (but think that would look crappy), then had an idea of blacking out the whole MIDDLE, i.e the white parts and the red part in between...Kind of the same idea as on the new E Class Tails.

Any Pictures or opinions on any of those?

Thanks.

Whatever there's gas in...
In my opinion, its smoke the red, leave the black ftw...maybe I'm just biased because of mine though

Although I do have an '03, I think the pre-'03 tails would look better smoked that way because there is more white all together to compliment the dark lights hope I helped you a bit!

Absolutely, I agree that the 00-02's would seem more at home with a blacked out look with the bigger white area's. Hopefully someone has some Pics.

Thanks for your input!

I would black out the red and leave the clear alone.

If you want post of a photo and I'll photoshop it for you.

That would be awesome, thanks. Here's a Picture. Also, what is the best way to go about smoking it? Would Tinting be the way to go or Painting? I'm trying to find a good shop in L.A that could do this. Also, I know it's illegal, but do you guys know if people get busted commonly for it?

Quick P-shop so you have an idea..

Here's my car so you have an Idea of what it looks like on the real.

The best way to go about this is by mixing clear with black paint. This will you give the best look, but if you do get in trouble for them you might have to end up having a spare set of tail lights. Another way is buying a vinyl from stickercity.com and covering them yourself. This is the safest way since its reversible.

Hope that helps.

whaat Alfonso is Darxide from e46? I loved you e46 and posted pictures of it on myMBonline before.

I agree with him, I would do a cherry red tint on the red party only and leave the clear alone.
