MB USA JUST PAID TO REPAIR ALL MY DOOR RUST
I am very pleased to say that I just got my 2002 80,000+ mile S500 back from the Benz dealer. MB USA has footed the bill to repair all of the rust on the doors of my car. I could not believe it actually happened. It has made me a believer that MB will stand behind their cars (in this case beyond the factory warranty). I hope to be as lucky in the future with this vehicle.

The rust was pretty bad on three out of four doors. It had rusted from the inside out and had come through the paint on three doors. Each of the spots were three inches by about four inches. It looked bad enough for MBUSA to agree to the repairs from pictures sent from the dealership. I have seen the same issues on several other 220's and I had first contacted MBUSA and wanted to know who to show the car to since I was very dissatisfied. I demanded the name of a person at the local dealership to follow up with.
I have been informed that the design problem has not been fixed and it is possible (likely=if you ask me) that the same problem may arise in the future. There is supposedly no fix, unless I would like to purchase the 221 which no longer has this problem.

Hi guys , i just went to the dealer and ask them about the rust on my s430 2002 doors and they said that they will not fix it ..the only thing that still under warranty is the instrument cluster, unlimited miles and until 2011...
