I was heading home for lunch taking the same street I take to get to work, when I remembered (while I was speeding past a slow-moving car) that I'd seen a patrol car posted up in a parking lot running radar this morning. As soon as my mind formed that thought I was passing the spot where he was and sure as ***** he's pulling out shortly after I go whizzing by. Since I was passing a couple cars anyway I get back in the right lane about 4 cars ahead of him, slow down enough to make a quick right turn. I see in my rear view him go by as I'm more than halfway down the block, I turn right again, then right again to get back on the street that I was originally on, with intent on crossing over to the next street, but I couldn't and said forget and just kept going. I see him about 5 cars ahead of me and he pulls into the left turning lane then busts a U-turn. I thought he spotted me, but he kept going back to his hiding spot. I lucked up I guess but should have been watching my speed as I normally do.
My question is.............What are you guys doing for radar detectors? Any reccomendations, and also I read somewhere that our windshields prevent them from working except in certain spots. Is this true??
