2 malfunctions today...

I was driveing down the freeway today and all of a sudden check windsheld washer level low and coolant level low cam on. I checked them when I got to destanition and they are both full? my temps on the car was fine and everything works fine. Does anyone have any suggestions? as to why it may have happened?

Although it's unusual for 2 sensors to fail at the same time, that is what I would suspect.

Those two sensors are linked in some way, if I remember correctly. I remember when both messages came on for me a few years ago and the fluids were all topped off. I replaced both sensors at the dealer under warranty, but the message came back after a few weeks.

I ignored it for another few weeks, and it hasn't returned in years. What a mystery.

The two sensors are connected in series to save a little wire. The cluster decodes the series resistance to interpret a low level in coolant or windshield reservoir. Only problem: a bad sensor throws off the interpretation and confuses the cluster. Easiest fix: replace both sensors.

I can't say if the sensors were bad. Even after replacing them with new ones, the message still came back. They eventually disappeared for good.

Both mines went out twice in my 2000 s500. They replaced them for under $20 with no labor charge as the car was already in for something else. Hey Newt, what you been upto?

Hey Ken. You remember me?

Oh nothing, just dumped $4k outta pocket to replace the entire front Airmatic system. Our W220 will go down in history books within the family as the car which caused the biggest pains and headaches of all.

Man, I feel your pain. I replaced my brake pads a month ago at 17k miles and now my front end is vibrating big time when I hit the brakes. I thought I bought oe pads from the dealer but I'm not too sure what I got.

If something isn't loose, warped rotors could be the issue, though I don't hear about that a lot on these cars.

Just thought I would share my "2 malfunction" experience.

So first it was the Windshield Washer Check Level about 2 weeks ago.
THEN
one week later the Coolant Check Level came on.

I have a blinking dashboard. Rotates back and forth.

I have been watching the temp gauge and it doesnt seem to go too high.

So from what I have read here it could be the WW sensor affecting the CL sensor.

Only one may be bad... I will change that one first.
