Cup Holder Question

My '04 W220 has a cup holder that springs out of a compartment behind the shifter. It's the most complicated device I have ever seen; all jointed and precise. Beyond it's limited usefulness, it's inconveniently located. I have seen pics of a cupholder that seems to mount to the passenger seat track alongside the console at the passenger's left leg. Is that a factory option, an aftermarket add-on, or are my eyes deceiving me? Is there one for the driver's side? I've searched the threads--no help.

Thanks for your help.

I bought mine used and it came with it - I was told this was factory add on for U.S. models only (only the U.S. needs to fit a 64oz big gulp in them!)

See item number 300. I would advise against placing one of these on the driver's side because it would get in your way when you drive. Your 'driving leg' would constantly be rubbing and hitting against the cup holder and any object you have placed in the holder. Also, the cup holder is meant to be removed when not in use but this could pose a problem if it becomes dislodged and gets in your way during driving and possibly cause an accident. I would use the passenger side cup holder location instead of trying to fit one on the driver's side. Cheers.
