A black 2002 model S500
"Have you had any problems with the police? Is it legal to smoke them like you did?"
I don't think it's legal to smoke them as
dark as mine. Nonetheless, I have not had any problems with the police. Same holds for the taillights, which I know are not legal - too dark.
"What wheel/tire and suspension setup do you have there?"
Lorinser LM-5; Front: 20x9; Rear: 20x10. Tires: P-Zero (which tires, incidentally, I do not recommend, will replace brand when necessary). Front: 245 x 35 x 20; Rear: 275 x 30 x 20.
Lorinser suspension package.
"If you can lower it, that would look sooo nice. What size tires are you using for the rear? 35 or 30 aspect ratio?
Ansonnn, I have a Lorinser suspension lowering kit, but I've also wondered about lowering the car even more. The aspect ratio (30) is listed above. What do you have on yours (I presume you have the silver DTM package I've seen in pics). Also, what did you use to lower your suspension?
"What wax do you use?"
As regards what wax I use, well, I don't know. I have my car detailed and am not sure what wax they use.
Still, my car looks best when it has a "wet paint" look. Does anyone have a recommendation? I've heard and read about Zymol and Zaino. Which is best for the "wet look" - considering the color (Obsidian Black, which is a metallic black)?

Mercedes S500 Sport
mdoen26,
Just got back from Reno for New Years. I usef RB Tech's lowering kit. I had asked about the Lorinser lowering module and the problem with that module is that there is uneven lowering on passenger and driver side by as much as a 1/4 inch and because it is electronic, it can't be adjusted. The other problem is that it messes with the electronics and I've had people tell me it may void the warranty. And finally, it costs close to a $1000. I chose the RB Tech because there is a wide adjustment to how low I want the car and most importantly, adjustments at all four corners for an even lowering all around. Jl88 uses another kit which is another good way to go. RB tech kit is around 325 with about $100 for install. Since you're already in SoCAL already, go to RB Tech and ask for Ralph. He is the owner of RB tech. He'll hook you up. Let him know Phil from Ansonnn Motorsports in San Jose sent you.

I have heard that too. Awiner told me that you can have your tech guy hook up the computer to your ABC equipped car and reprogram so the car thinks its sitting too high and will adjust itself or something along those lines, i can't quite remember it was a while ago.
