Time for a new Grill

I want to order a new gril for my 2002 S430. Looking for the one with the MB star in the middle.

What do I look for to find a quality one ?

What should I avoid ?

Difficult to install ?

Decide to start the mod process after reading what you guys have done for two years and getting a bit bored with the car. I was going to sell it but based on what its worth, I might as well mod it and have some fun.

Small start but who knows where I go from here:

I've been going back and forth on getting that same grill. I kinda want it because it's different and would definately set my car apart, but then I can't help but think it looks a tad tacky. I do wanna update my lights though before I do

they have them on ebay for half that. I would just buy an ebay one, if turns out to be crap at least you didn't waste over $225 on it

I've been toying with the idea of doing the front grille as well. I've been looking for over two months, ebay, etc. etc.. Downloaded many pictures of the various options available and the various cars with the different grilles.

I ordered one from Vertex racing (Ebay), BIG MISTAKE. Wrong grille, scratched, and I had to pay for the shipping both ways. I ended paying for their mistake. I got some of my money back, but it was a hassle. I guess that's what some people from other countries believe is fair and good customer service. Didn't read their return policies. Buyer beware.

In any event, after evaluating the many options I've decided to simply replace the hood ornament. It gives the car a slicker/sportier look. Its also subtle and understated.

Just my experience, thats all. I hope it helps.

ps: Look for my posting next week, I'll probably change my mind again

Ok. I've changed mind mind and it hasn't been a week. In fact, it hasn't been an hour! That grill looks awesome!!!!

I still think we should be carefull with some of those Ebay dealers and their fine print policies.

I really like the all black look like this , but I can only find this grill in 03+ for some reason.

The all chrome look is ok but I would like to see it in person, maybe if you have chrome rims.

They also have a silver grill but I have yet to see that on a black car.

It is hard to tell in picture though, when i first saw the s550 in pictures I wasn't impressed. When i saw it in person I was very impressed.
