accidently washed my original key

Rubbing Alcohol
I recently lost my keys in a storm sewer. They were submerged for 2 hours -- I was able to immediately open the car doors, but the fob wasn't recognized by the ignition system. I then pulled the batteries and held the fob under a bathroom hand dryer -- but the car still wouldn't recognize the fob. I assumed it was fried. The following day, I took the fob apart, pulled out the circuit board and poured rubbing alcohol over it. I let the alcohol evaporate, dried it again with a hair dryer; and all but the rear hatch button worked. I repeated the process and the fob returned to full working order! No issues since. If you need help, there's a few YouTube videos show that show how to remove the circuit board..
