REMOVE RESONATOR ON 2001 S600?

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone removed the resonators on a 2001 S600. I heard the sound clips on the S500 and it sounds great. I would really like a more throaty sound and am wondering if removing the resonators will accomplish this. Any info on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance..Paul

whats up twinz...yeah itll make it sound good...real good...what your saying is that you would like to just cut off the drums or resonators and put the straight pipes in right? im doing mine next week and im looking extremely foreward to it...if you youtube "CLS STRAIGHT PIPES" or something along those lines...you shall hear a very nice sounding cls with straight pipes, as you and i are both about to do...not too hard a job...you gonna do it yourself? good luck sir, will

Hey will,

thank you for the response. I was thinkin of just removing the resonators and running pipes to the mufflers. Is this what you are going to be doing? I am going to go to a local shop today to see what they say. I will keep you posted. Let me know what set up you are going to do as well. Are you going to keep your mufflers on or are you taking them off? Talk to you soon..Paul

Keep in mind the 500 and 600 will sound ALOT different. IMO the V8 has an amazing grumbly muscle-car-esque sound, the V12's don't sound nearly as good IMO. Either way that comes down to preference, but I'd just warn to not expect the sound of that S500 you heard.
