WTF Water leak shut down electronics
Im trying to find out if this happened to anyone else. Today during a rain shower water began streaming into the passenger side floor. it was coming from underneath the dash. It caused some initial electronic problems and then completely wiped out the electrical system. lights, wipers, ac, windows, srs, presafe, display. its at the shop now. Any comments would be apreciated.

It's common. The drain gets clogged, water gets in and the SAM gets fried. Do a search and you'll find many sorry fellow sufferers. If you're lucky, your insurance should cover it.

same thing happend to me. took 3 different dealers to figure out that it was a drain clog. they tried to blame it on everything from the battery, to the alternator, to the cold weather. finally, $7,000 later (insurance covered it) car runs perfect. they have to tear out the entire wiring harness and redo the entire electrical system. i would spend a good half hour when you go to pick up the car checking every switch and button. i had to take my S430 back to the dealer 3 times because the technician forgot to connect various switches, including the module that measures gas in the tank. i ran out of gas on the highway because the gauge read half a talk and i was actually empty.
