2002 S500

Trunk Issues

My trunk open assist does not work and also the Close assist. Tried looking everywhere but see nothing broken and checked all fuses. Please Help.

Your trunk maybe locked with the metal key. Try and see if you can unlock it with that key first.

the trunk opens with the alarm key and the drivers side its just that the both assist are not doing anything.

Also i found 2 wires one brown and one brown with black stripe it fell from somewhere that was connected to the trunk from the inside when removing everything but dont know where to connect it. those wires look like for the trunk light and the close assist button to power on.

Actually I have been having a similar problem recently. Whenever I close my trunk, sometimes it will still open up, and the only thing I do to fix it is just shut it a little harder..
