W220 Gear Lever Clicks (tapping noise) in 'P when I press and release the break pedal

Hi all

Just wonder if any one has the same issue or was this noise there before and am I going mad?????

Basically when the car is running. Standing still in 'PARK' I can hear a obvious click noise (one click) when I press the break pedal down and another when I let go of the break pedal!!

I can also feel it in the lever if I hold it.

Is this normal , is there a simple fix..

Does anyone know why this happens?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks All

i believe what you are hearing is the safety so the car cannot come out of park if your foot is not on the brake

Ditto^^ Its normal, its the catch which stops you coming out of park without the brake pressed
