Max width rear tires?

I am needing to order new tires for the 04 S600, Strange how that can happen... Anyway, It calls for 245 45 18 in the front which is fine and 265 40's in the back. I would like to go with a wider rear tire on the factory AMG's for now until I replace the wheels in the spring.

p.s. I have a bolt on Tire Rack Fender Roller I can use also to help...

On that 18x9 rim, I would suggest 275 as max. However, you can squeeze 285s back there on the S-class and maybe even 295 depending on backspacing.

I got mine set up 245/45/18 front and 275/40/18 rear MICHELIN PILOT SPORT A/S !!!! looks wide enough . check the pics. i had 285/35/18 which was a set of AMG from my SL500 . it did rub over bumps but that was due to the rim offset from the SL. it sticks out a lot .

IF YOU LIKE A QUITE SMOOTH AND A+ HANDLING AT THE SAME TIME OUT OF ULTRA HIGH PERFORMANCE ALL SEASON TIRE YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH MICHELIN PILOT SPORT A/S , TO ME THE BEST IN THE MARKET .
