O2 sensor question 2000 S430
I have the following codes: P0161 & P0156
O2 sensor Bank 2 Sensor 2
I have cleared code a couple of times, and have a new gas cap on the way!
1) Is that the rear (after cat O2 on drivers side?)
2) CAN the two rear o2's be swapped to see if symptom moves to other bank?

I'm sure sensor 2 is after cat, downstream. The part numbers are the same for the downstream O2 sensors, so yes you can swap them to see if the problem moves. Not sure about the banks though as I've always done in pairs. The upstream sensors, (before cat) have different part numbers.

NP man.
Correct. You'll need heat resistant lubricant and you'll also need an O2 sensor socket. It's basically a socket with adapter off to the side and a slit for the wire to go through. You should be able to find both at an auto parts store. If you're going to the dealer, the MB part numbers are as follows:
Ring wrench socket: 000 589 71 03 00
Lubricant: A 000 989 76 51
The tightening torque for a 113.960 engine (500 Series) is 50Nm. Not sure if that's the same for a 430, but it might be.
