I indeed forgot to mention that; wrongly assuming that all S600 have it: I have separate temperature, fan and REST controls in the back and theoretically I can heat in the front and cool in the back (or vice versa).

What fixed your problem? The flushing or the replacing of the valve / aux heat pump?

What are these anyway?

duo valve: diverting to the front or back?
aux heat pump: Is this both front and rear pumps? Just the front heat pump? why "aux"?

Replacing the Front Duovalve/aux heat pump is what ended up correcting the problem. The duovalve diverts only the front left/front right blend through the front heater core. The rear heater core has its own duo valve from what I understand, but I don't know where it is located.

If you go onto the PDF in this link, check pages 29-30, it may make more sense once you see it:

Blower Motor

I'm having problems with the blower motor. Its functioning perfectly but just makes one hell of a screech when its on, then it'll stop for abit then start again. Could someone please tell me how to find the blower motor? I've had a look underneath the passenger side footwell and see some boxes, but unsure of whats what?

I also had a problem with a really quite ticking noise coming from the COMMAND area, after abit of investigating I discovered that it was a wire that was brushing off a motor inside the very bottom A/C control panel on the left hand side. I took out the central unit and took apart the a/c piece I just plugged it back in and no more noise.

many thanks

Nas

The motor is located on the underside of the passenger footwell. Firstly you'll have to unclip the cable that's being attached to the motor, then there are a couple of torque screws that need to be removed then the plastic cover will pull out. Once you do that the motor is located on the left hand side. Some of the screws are tricky to get out but once all have been removed it'll just drop out. So make sure you don't drop it and cause further damage.

Also I would recommend using some grease on the bearings on the fan to stop it from squeeking later on.

hope that helps sorry I don't have pictures.

the duo valve is where the wiper blades are, under the cover, but double check.

Did you ever notice that they run better on low settings I used to have this ml 430 and it never worked on high at all but if you put it on just two notches and high heat it got steaming hot in the cabin all winter long
