Side Lights
Has anyone fitted aftermarket led side light bulbs and had any faults messages appear as a result of fitting these type off bulbs?
I want to fit the white bulbs and get rid of the yellow affect from the ones I have at present on my S500
Thanks

There are some issue with adding the LEd mirror bubs to the older cars but you have to search to find out.
The yellow side marker lights are and easy swap for the lenses and you change to yellow bulbs.

Your question is not specific enough. See https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ml#post1632025 for side marker lights, and see https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ter-picts.html for the mirror-mounted turn signal strips.
I replaced my side markers with clear lenses, and used a silvered incandescent bulb that illuminates yellow (for legal compliance) - but the lenses do not show any yellow when the lights are off. They were not LED bulbs. Yes, you could have problems if you changed the incandescent side markers for LED without accounting for the differences in resistance. I do not know what resistance you'd need.

if you're referring to LEDs in the sidemarkers, then yes - it will give you an error message...at least the ones i used did.

The Side marker lights are the sillte yellow lights on the fron the the car on the left and right side. NO model has them in LED. the only LED lights are the turn signal lights in the mirrors. they are not side marker lights just for clarification as they face forward.

True, MY - the OP never clarified what he was talking about.
If the OP intended to replace the incandescent bulbs with LED in the side markers, ksc is probably correct - it would cause a readout indicating bad bulbs.
If the OP intends to replace his mirror-mounted turn signal lights, the old ones are LED anyway - going with the newer style reflector LEDs would not cause a problem. Lights from some sources seem to cause a problem, but that's discussed in the link I provided.
So, we're still discussing a poorly worded question.
Midlife?

Sorry lads being Scottish I just sobered up from the New Years festivities (hic up). The side lights are for the front off the car (i.e. in the headlights) and not the mirror mounted indicator lenses
