00-02 to 03-05 Light conversion Kit W220
Hello everyone,
New to the forum. Good info in here.
I am picking up an 01' S500 on Thursday. Has anyone ever bought this light kit upgrade from ebay?

It seems to be a good deal. Not sure if they are genuine projection like OEM's, but do these headlights at least LOOK the same? Some question for the rear.

After finding a pic of a close up on an 03' head light, it seems that these ebay lights do look identical!

They will look the same when they are off. They look exactly the same off. When you need to turn them on, you will see the difference. They are not the same quality. If you never need to turn them on then you will be fine.
There is a great thread by Skylaw that was recently created which gives the entire low down on upgrading to projector lights. It includes tons of links to all the information needed.
I was also interested in upgrading but once I did research and spoke with a few MB mechanics, I found it wasnt worth it because I would be changing my supreme lights for subpar lights just to gain the newer projector look. I upgraded my tail lights to 07 style and side mirror lights to the clear lenses and just doing that made my OEM lights look even better so I will not be changing them out.
If I could do it all over again, I would get an 03-06 S500 with amg kit. I love my 2000 S500 but all of the upgrades I want to do would be the same as buying a 03-06 with amg kit. I will end up making all of the changes except the kit, nav and the headlights.

Riiiiiiiiiiiight.
Thank you for the info. Well for now im going to take the dive into these lights. The reason being is that my stockers are really faded and cracked. I can polish out the fading part but they are FULL of tiny little cracks that just looks horrible and visibility is down the drain. So the headlights will just be a "temp" fix while I get the right ones later, as these are inexpnsive enough to justify it for a little while

$75 bucks for shipping!!! Sounds like a rip-off to me. I've seen projector kits going for $275, I dunno what the tail lights sell for seperately though. But $75 bucks shipping is an awful lot
