Anybody swap their own tierods?

I have a minor clunk on some occasions on the drivers side. Something similar was occurring on the pass. side, and new inner and outer tierods solved the problem.

I can get the parts for a nice discount, and its not too difficult of a job from what I can tell.

Id prefer to avoid paying the $300 or so in labor to complete this task, so has anybody tackled this one?

Any gotchas or special tools necessary?
Any other relevant info that I should be aware of?

I will definitely get an alignment afterwards.

Thanks for the assistance.
