Unhappy Vibration

Hi everyone,

About a week ago I had replaced all 4 tires to Yokohama ADVAND SPORT, Front 245 45/18, rear 265 40/18 which is according to the rim spec, after that the car was slightly drift to left on straight and flat road like the highway, so I did the 4 wheels alignment, and the job was carefully done on camber, caster, toe in-out sort of things, and yes the car can run straight now, but another blow my mind thing happen is that when I drive my car in the morning or after I had parked overnight, I kind of feel a very subtle vibration from the cabin "NOT THE STEERING WHEEL" starting from 60km onwards, so I did a 4 wheels balance and guest what, it still there!! * it seems better when the car had warmed up or I had it drove for a time being, any suggestion to help? thanks a mil

If it goes away when you drive a while, its more than likely your tires get flat spots when they sit a while.. this is normal for low profile tires and some tires are worse than others. As the tires wear this will go away.( hopefully )

my06clk is correct; and it will happen more often with softer rubber compounds (such as summer tires, especially when left to sit in cold weather), or in any tire when not driven for a very long time.

my yokos had a bit of a flat spotting problem, but my michelins are perfect in that regard.

I wonder it the 20" michelins behave your yours. 18's right? I know for sure there is a huge diference in how kuhmo, falken, and others are betweeen the sizes. I plan on getting a set of michelins in the next few weeks in stagggered 20 so I'm curious. I'm guess ( hoping ) I 'll be sold for once and for all.

I give Nitto 245.35.20 good grades for example but the 275.30.20, arent as good lasting about half the time and NEVER seem to balance out well after they get about 4 to 5K on them. THe 245s lasted twice as long. the threads look good but they don;t balance good either anymore but after a years wirth of driving.

yeah I have the standard 18s. I love them (Pilot sport a/s). They are pretty quiet, ride nice, have great rain/snow traction, and have been wearing nicely. Not cheap, but a great tire.

As for Nittos, I have them on my cobra (555r up front, drag radials in back). They last a nice amount of time, have good grip when warm, and I've not had issues with balance.

adding more pressure in tires helps with flat spot.

My car behaves the same way... if it's outside in the cold for a while, the tires will develop flat spots that fade away after a few minutes of driving.
