2000 S500 ignition setting

Does anyone know for sure what is the best setting in the ignition correction program in this car? The options are Baseline, 93 RON, 91 RON and 89 RON.
Is baseline set conservatively at a low RON by the factory, or at the maximum performance level for 95 RON, which equals the 91 US octane that MB says to burn.
I got someone to set it to 93 RON, but am having second thoughts after reading some posts on this.
Thanks

I would keep it at what the factory reccomends unless you can get better mileage overall better money per gallon. Unless your going to the track with this car a higher gasoline grade won't do much i think. Also is the RON the ECU your talking about ( isn't it the ECU which controls the detnation of the fuel?)
