My Navigation Did Something Peculiar
Today when I drove home from, my navigation was not active, the display in the insturment cluster did not display the compass heading and street name, it just said, in large all capital letters, HEADING. I activated the navi and in the display was the distance to my next turn. When I got close it displayed the name of the street, again in large all capital letter. I got home, shut it off and restarted it and the display went back to what has been normal for over three years, a compass heading and the name of the street I was on.
Does anyone know why it did that and/or have any of you ever seen it before?

That seems like some sort of a hiccup in the system... 
I just got the latest software update for the 2004-2006 navigation systems, which corrects some bugs and issues with recognizing the DVD and other issues. This is a software updated, not an updated map DVD.
If any is in the tri-state area and wants me to flash their COMAND, let me know!

you know what...i may need to take you up on that. I recently recieved a software update DVD and it said there was an error and ever since, my system doesnt even read that disk, so that i can try to redo the process. Maybe i will reburn it and then try it again...maybe it wont read it because it already read that disk? who knows. i think the reason my COMAND has been messing up is 'cause it needs to be flashed...or something...any ideas though?

If you haven't updated nav DVDs regularly, you may need an update that provides the missing incremental updates and allows the newest disc to be read.
