sirius hardwire?

sirius hardwire?
Does anyone know how to hardwire my sirius starmate4 so that I don't have that big bulky ugly cigarette lighter plug sticking out of the ashtray?

The tip will be connected to a spring which is soldered to a red wire. cut the spring.
The side clip should be soldered to a black wire. Cut the side clip.
YOu may have to add wire to those two wires as they may be a little short.
Take some ELectrical tape and wrap the circuit biard that the two wires conect to very good all the way to the cord on the other side only leaving the red and the black wire hanging. Don;t spare the tape. Wrap it good but DO NOT remove the circuit board as it it a mini invertor board IF you like your sirius receiver.
IF you remove your ashtray, you can put the wires behind and then connect the two wires to the positive and ground that goes to you cogarette lighter under and behind the ashtray.
After the connection is made, and taped, route the cable wherever you want and put the ashtray back into place. Under either side of the center consle would work good for this.
Presto. you now have a hardwired power connection for your receiver.
I have the same setup for my phone charger and it sits in the ashtry where my phone tucks perfectly out of sight. Great use since I don't smoke.

thanks clk! but that seems all to complicated to me (not so good with electrical wireing) I was hoping someone in here would know of a place on Long Island where I could have it profesionally installed. nassau county would be great! (my dealer will not install anything aftermarket)
