For a 2000-2002 S-Class how do you update the center console to the 2003-2006 look?

What is needed? The command system and wood trim of course.
But are there any wires needed? What about the DVD operating system as opposed to the 2000-2002's CD operating system? How do you go on about that? And will everything work, such as screen where the speedometer is?
What are all the things I need for the conversion and how much will everything besides the wood trim and command system cost?

I think you can. I've heard of people doing it. And it's not even my car lol.

 

YOu can only do the 2003 version because the 2004-2006 are MOST cars. the 2003 is d2B like the older cars.

BUT. you have to get a trim panel,inner support, change the wires, and some other stuff I forgot but it is doable...
YOU don't gain anything except a widescreen as the 2003 is CD based also. This is why most people feel its a waste of time and money.

 

my06clk is correct; you also need to add an Audio Gateway.

 

How hard is it to retro fit the 03 command into the 00-02? I'm really interested in doing this conversion.

 

it cost 1k easily. i did the research. i wanted to do it too...but it wasnt worth it since the car is only worth like 10k now
