W220 S65 AMG
The S600 will have ventilated front seats, the stock seat backs have vents where the air is sucked in by the fans, looks like these don't have anything like that... I would not have bought that junk without making sure it will work.

Those are the ones! Too bad you bought them as I would leaped on them at $250!
Double entendres aside do they match your current wood?
They look like OEM to me. Right size, right design...

Regarding the AMG Nürburgring calibration, look in this document: https://mbusa-iq1-sul.criticalmass.c...rmance-pkg.pdf
"AMG has reprogrammed the ABC to a “Nürburgring” calibration — with 20 percent firmer front and rear damping rates for both compression and rebound — inspired by the world’s most revered racetrack."

Oxygen: I have a bad habit of buying a lot of junk.... when he sold it to me he said it will work will all 00-06 s-class's. I wonder if they make tray tables for the active cooling seats.
I meant which suspension system do you drive? The S600/S65/AMG Nürburgring calibration?

My brother owns an S600 and back about 6mos ago when I was talking his ear off about how tired I was of wrenching on my s/c Vette he said "one day you'll wise up and buy a V-12TT Benz" (he's older and wiser, or so he says).....then, he offered me his car for a week (I gave him my ghetto Toyota Avalon daily driver) and told me to have fun with it.....I beat the **** out of it and had fun for sure......raced anything everything I could, corner carved, performed multiple daily launches from a dig, had it on the speed limiter 3-4 times, did enough roll-ons to burn a tank of gas, etc. It was the single best car I'd ever driven.....quiet, reliable, fast as hell, very unsuspecting to the avg gear head, comfortable, and actually handled remarkably well for a 5k lb car. I bought a W220 S65 2 weeks later and I couldn't be happier- It's absolutely awesome.
The 600 is no slouch....my brother and I raced from a dig on the street....both got good launches and left at the exact same time.....I didn't come around him until about 80mph and it wasn't easy....at about 120 I'd say I had 1.5 cars on him. I was very impressed. That thing friggin rolls.....
I'd say the AMG Sport Package is a must. Getting a good warranty is key, I can't stress that enough. My car has been in for some very small fixes and I'm sure I'd have over 5k in repairs if it was outta pocket. That's why I bought a CPO'd car from a dealer......I wanted absolutely no hassle when bringing the car in for work.
Good luck with your purchase and you won't be disappointed if you go with the 600......hope you know a good traffic lawyer, I got my first ticket in 9yrs the other day

Switching back to a regular AMG program or the stock "cushy" program of the 600 would take about 30 minutes with the SDS computer and some swapping of modules under the hood.
I am also running a RENNtech ELM v2 in my car, which is set to be lowered at almost the lowest setting... this will attribute to a firmer ride also.

Got it this time. Thanks...
Once I finally get one, I'm sure I'll want it. I just don't want to get a 5k lb car and have it fell like it is. But from what I've been reading, I guess I don't have to worry about it much. Which is why I want it so much

I need help. I've found myself looking at the Audi A8, 04-05. I like the idea of all wheels drive...but it lacks HP/TQ, which is huge and why I still like the S600, but I can't stop looking at it. I love the look. Also, it seems it can't really be tuned. ![Nonono](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nonono2.gif)

Comparing an S600 and the Audi doesn't really make sense.

True, but I have a dollar amount I'm working with. So, I'm looking at the best each maker has with the things I need.
Otherwise I'd compare with the W12 A8, but they aren't in the same price range

I honestly think you may be stretching a bit with a $26k budget for a nice S600. Not that it can't be done, but you will be compromising on year, options, or miles.
I'd say $35 to $40k would buy you a really nice on.
The Audi A8 is nice, and the S8 would provide you with great performance and AWD, but they are still pricey.
In my opinion, you should be looking at either an S55 or an E55.
Perhaps a CLS55, but they might be too pricey still.

The W220s are very cheap not only because of horrid luxury car depreciation but also because of the fact the W221 is here, something the A8 doesn't have a problem with.
I'd agree with others who say to get the right S600 you'd need to spend $35k-$45k. If you don't mind an '03 and are just after some V12 TT action there's a guy selling an '03 CL600 with 28,000 miles and is asking $29k. I drove this car earlier in the week and it is very sound. I passed because I'm very picky with options (I didn't realise ahead of time the '03s had less options) and years and am preferably looking at an '05 or '06...

^ The CL's will have to come later in life...due to family, I need a sedan.
I also don't mind the 03's. I haven't own a german car newer then a 2000. So option don't matter...I've never had them anyhow. I have now way to know what they are to have them so I won't miss them.![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
And an 03 with 70K miles won't bother me either.

There is no official Triple Black in the US, in Europe the designo Pkg has nearly infinite, but designo exclusive color/leather/wood choices. That being said, I DID see a US 2006 S65 on ebay 6 months ago that was specially ordered in designo Mocha Black, and it had the standard issue AMG Dark Graphite leather, so it was sorta a Triple black designo (on the outside anyway)
The designo on a S600 is/was a $9,100 Pkg that added exclusive (designo ONLY) Paint colors, interior wood, Leather colors w/ designo insignia, special floor mats, Espresso Edition: Mocha Black Metallic Paint w/ Cognac leather & Burl ELM wood, Graphite Edition: Graphite Green Metallic Paint w/ "Light" Graphite leather & Black/Gray Burl wood, and the Silver Edition: designo Silver w/ Cream leather & Burl Elm wood
On the S55/S500/S430: $11,400 (S430) & $10,900 (S500/S55) Special colors as above, PLUS it adds tons of hand-stitched NAPPA leather (like the S600): the dash, drivers airbag, door panels, center console, Alcantara headliner & sun visors, wood steering wheel & gear shift, rear heated seats (S430/500/S55) Front heated seats (S430 <std on S500/S55>) (ALL the above is standard on Base S600), One oddity is that you couldn't get a heated steering wheel on a Designo (not sure why, as you could get in on a Base S600 with the regular Burl Walnut steering wheel)
Just like Oliver, there is nothing better than a designo Pkg, especially when its on a S500.

I really have to agree. The best part is that is doesn't translate to a much higher price in the secondary market. The extra leather on the interior makes the car for me. Even the rear parcel shelf is leather. It really brings the car up a notch, and I would have a tough time buying an S-class without the full leather, even on a 221.
Some days I wish I had an all black interior with the dark wood for that real executive boardroom feel, but that fades quickly when I think about how nice the brown looks, feels, smells, etc. It really is something special.
