I think it's cool... I mean.. someone should have come out with this years ago.. Airmatic has been around since 1999... why is that now, 10 years later they start to offer aftermarket non-airmatic shocks for the car?

What do you do about all the Airmatic warnings once you rip out the system?

Wonder what the ride is like?

I contacted the Strutmaster about the electronic warning for Airmatic. Just like the conversion on the Range Rover Air suspension, this kit will have the warning override when replacing the Airmatic. When I had my 95 RR Classic LWB, I did the conversion and it costed me around $1,000 for the conversion back in 2001.
I also found a ebay seller that remanufactures the MB Airmatics and sells for $359/ea when you exchange your core.

I thought about this for awhile when my relay and fuse went out. I was just looking for any other reason to convert and be done with it. Dealer however, found nothing wrong with my system and after looking around, the parts to maintain the suspension is not that bad. If I didnt have the auto skills (being able to diagnos well) I would prob do it. However, the 1000+ dollar price after its all done (getting someone to install it),,,,,....I am pretty confident I can always fix the system for less for as long as I am going to own it. Plus, Im not sure who made the point, but it was valid. You lose a lot of what makes an S class a S class when you get rid of it.
