I'm actually happy to see one out there with so many miles on it. I hope that's me one day..
I'm sure these cars are more than capable, but people these days just don;t keep them long enough or don't drive them enough to ever find out. I had 235K on my ML when it sold. I would love to get 300K off my 2004. I'm a third of the way there and soo far so good...

Has anyone else found that with mileage their engine if anything seems to be more economical and actually smoother than it used to be?
I bought my s-class with 80k on it and it was rare to ever see more than about 25-26MPG from it, now with 125k on it a year and a half later i am miffed if i don't hit 27-28-29MPG. I did a run back home this evening for 81 miles and averaged 29.6MPG (all motorway, didnt come off 75mph cruise even once until i got to the last 5 miles on local roads) I have changed nothing and it is still used for 99% of its mileage at 75mph cruise control day in day out on the same motorways as before. Its ran on the same petrol from the same supplier of the same grade.

THe best Ive gotten was like 24 MPG on a 400 mph highway trip.
But on Local Trips from BK to Manhattan the computer shows 8-9MPG.
Its 100% innacurate I think...

The drivetrains of these cars are bulletproof. The absolute last thing Im worried about on my benz is the engine or tranny.
Im impressed by this car. The interior, aside from the drivers seat has held up well (something the 140 guys claimed could never happen) and it really doesn't look to be in bad shape.
I wouldn't buy a car like this, but at least that shows that this car can take it.
Someone should post this on the 140 forum, as they believe that 220s fall apart at 99k miles.
