My First Mercedes -- S430
This is my first Mercedes -- 00 S430. I need some leads regarding an extended warranty. If you guys could pass on the best extended warranty I could purchase. I'm trying to find one that the dealer would honor. Any first hand experience would be great.
I own a 98 GS400 and LS400 and three other Lexus's which I love the way they drive but driving an S Class was something I could say was "wonderful".
I put on 20's Carlssons 2/5 last week -- the look was great but the ride was a bit rough. Would 18's or 19's be a better ride than 20's?
I appreciate any information on the warranty and wheels.

all i can say is WOW!!!
i personally have no clue on the extended warrenty.. but have fun with your benz!
the 19's and 18's will have softer quality but have you tried any differnt ABC settings (does the s-class have ABC?)

2004 S 600
The 430 doesn't have ABC suspension unless it was ordered as an option. Comes standard on 600 and AMG versions. I would go with 18" persoanlly with ZR rated tires Pilot A/S...plenty of grab when you need it but affords a wonderful ride.

What tire size did you use? The most common size for 20's on an S-class is 255/35 but JL88 used 245/35 and 275/30 and commented that his ride was quite rough.

Sorry Merc: i have no idea on the S-class ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Ernie: If possible get your rims in an 18" config with the tires Merc suggested. If possible also ask your dealer to lower your car. That makes the ride quality (i believe) the same as regular 18's but you get that extra, cool effect without having to spring for the twenties.

Nice car!!
I like the Maranello with the Axis wheels too. Is that yours too??
I can't tell from the lighting in the picture, but do you know if the 550 is Grigio Alloy or Azzuro California blu?

Thanks for the replies. I'll try the 255/40 with Lowenhart BDS hopefully I'll have the great look and better ride than the 20's.
Have any of you guys purchased an aftermarket warranty? If so can you please forward a number or a link.
Thanks,
Ernie

If anyone drives a Lexus, then you drive an S class (Or any Mercedes Benz vehicle) right afterwards, you will never go back to Lexus. Thats all it takes is 1 ride and you are hooked with a MB.
Good choice, I think then 430 is the right engine for that car. Nice rims too.
