Help Needed - Window Motor Replacement...

Hello... I have a 2000 S430 and the window motor for my driver's window went out. I searched this forum and found how to take my door panel off. The window motor has 3 screws in it, which come out easily. From what I can tell, from the pictures I've seen for this motor unit, is should just pop right off. I don't want to do this though, if the cable is going to come unwound (I'm not sure if there's any type of gear mechanism that would keep the window from coming down once I pull the motor off.

Can any explain to me the steps I should take for removing the motor? Again, this is just to replace the motor... Not the whole window assembly/regulator.

THANKS!

I replaced mine on my '99 430, it just comes right off and exposes a cogged mechanism behind it. Undo the three starred screws and pop it right off without worry. Quick and easy job to replace it.

I took the 3 screws off, no problem, but the window is up. When I pop the motor unit off, I don't want the window to come crashing down, and I don't want the cable to unwind. I wasn't sure if there was some sort of mechanism that would keep this from happening when I pull the motor unit off? If so, I probably need to tape my window up, so I can't come down, and have someone just put a little pressure on it while I swap out the motor.

Any ideas?

Nothing happens when you pull the motor off, it just exposes a cog system behind it.. The new motor slots right back in and screws in...or at least nothing happened when i replaced mine with the window wound up on my '99 S430....
