Navigation being activated.
Hi all,
I was going to update my nav system so i can use a newer version of dvd, so I got nav service dvd and put it in navigation dvd drive, display got stuck at nav system being activated for a long time, so i turned it off, replace service dvd with original nav dvd which car came with and was working fine, now even with that dvd in place, display still says nav system being activated. its been stuck on that for almost one hour so i have given it enogh time, what happened? did i fry my nav software? what to do ?

Thanks for the reply, its wierd what happened as i did not let service dvd to run completely, I let previous navigation dvd run completely and now when I placed new navigation dvd it seems to be working fine. I seem to have new maps available now. makes me happy though
I am not finding any POI though, is that somehting that was missing from dvd or should I run service dvd again and redo the process?

You should be able to see a "POI" choice in the destination memory menu. It should be the next-to-last item. Is that what you're missing? Or are you talking about the options to display things like ATM locations, gas stations, etc. (personal symbols) on the moving map?
For POIs as a destination, you must enter the town you're interested in, or select current location.
For personal symbols, activate the soft keys by pushing any one of them while displaying the map; select the "Display" soft key; then push the "symbol" softkey, and view the choices.
If you cannot find these features, I would try the service disc again.

Thanks for the reply again, actually my I hit POI it tried to updated for a few minutes and then reported as none POI found, I will try again and post back, I have another questions, I have 2006 dvd now in place of 2004 before, I am getting new maps but same graphics, have graphics changes to better in new dvd like 2009 or they are still the same basic lines?
