Changed front lower control arms..
I had my car at TTM's shop this morning and we changed out my front lower control arms or strut arms as Mercedes calls them.
With the right tools and skills it's a no brainer job. We had the car rolling off the lift in about an hour and twenty minutes.
Reactions-
I have not had a chance to drive the car for more than 2 minutes so far, but from what I can tell you the steering feels very smooth from one extreme to the other and any kinds of noises, thuds, etc... have been eliminated from the front. Also feels like the car reacts better to braking.
You are looking at $248/ea for the control arms, $28/ea for the mounting parts kit and about 2 to 3 hours of labor.
I can take some photos if anyone's interested.

Which part did you replace, the LCA or the arm strut? There's upper (wishbone looking) and lower control arm. Then there's the other arm that's called "strut". The LCAs are also called "transverse". If you have pics, I'd love to see them. Thanks!

I went to MB to get ball joints, came back and found out I really needed the control arms and not the ball joints... so I got the control arms from good ol' MBUSA.

Yes the black ones are the main control arms, wait till you change them and you will feel big difference in the suspension I beilive.

I have an 02 C230 Kompressor and was told that I need a lower control arm. I've been looking for a DIY for this but can't seen to find it on this forum. It looks like just a few bolts but I'm not sure. You any of you know how hard of a job this is?
