Stereo Problem
Good Day people, I'm Chris and new to the forum.
I have a '99 W220 S500 with a Bose stereo system and i'm experiencing problems with it. The radio/stereo does come on but no sound. Anyone had the same problem?
Your help will be appreciated

Welcome Chris, I have not had the identical problem, however very similar. locate the fuse for your stereo system and remove. If the fuse is good this will reset the system, there may be more than one. It's been along time since I have removed mine, if that does not work you may want to talk to someone with more experience than I going forward. I would also do a search of past posts on this subject. Good Luck.

Also, check the Bose amp itself for a fuse on the case. Although for U.S. specification cars, the phone bulletin at http://home.earthlink.net/~phdwebsit..._bulletins.htm may help you locate the amp.

Had the amp tested and they said that there is nothing wrong with the amp. They also told me that the amp does't get the wake-up signal from the stereo, maybe a wiring problem? Did test the fuses for the stereo and all of them are working

Mercedes
ALLDATAdiy.com has a ton of testing for the stereo system in your S500. This test chart is direct from Mercedes, as well as the fuse location. There is an additional 13 test steps for your stereo system in ALLDATAdiy.com if the fuse isn't the problem.

The wake up is a remote signal sent from your head unit to your amp. Usually brn/blu and Blu wire on your plug. You will see the same wires at each of your components as they are wired in series.
The wake-up signal for your Amp comes from the last upstream unit which is your head unit. Check he connections very carefully to make sure the pins are making good contact, then do the same at the amp.
Out of curiosity, how could they verify the amp as good if there was no wake-up signal? again power TO a component does not mean its functioning properly.

The D2B wake up signal has nothing to do with power to the units therfore you can still have a good fuse and no wake-up.
